How We Used E Design to Renovate a Primary Bathroom in Fort Worth Suburb

Comfort Is Created is both the name of our company and something we believe to be true — comfort is something we create with the furniture, colors, and materials we bring into our homes.

Our e design services equip clients dreaming of a home renovation to make informed decisions, adding structure and guidance to a process that can otherwise feel overwhelming. Harnessing the power of technology, we help homeowners look past what their homes are now and visualize what they can be before bringing that vision to life!

One of our favorite projects to date was for a couple in the Fort Worth suburb North Richland Hills. They wanted to upgrade their 2005 builder-grade bathroom to be more stylish and spa-like. We drew up a new bathroom interior design with SketchUp and created mood boards to help the clients understand which interior design concepts they preferred before selecting finishes (they went for a modern style). It was a delight to see their vision come to life, and I am excited to share more about how we did it with E Design.

Originally, our plan was to keep the mirror and add a frame. They knew they wanted light countertops and thought they wanted dark wood cabinets. In the end, they opted to paint the cabinets grey and decided to keep the mirror frameless to maintain a sleek, seamless look. Our clients wanted more storage and a large walk-in shower. The layout of the original bathroom had the toilet tucked away in a water closet. We liked the privacy it provided but wanted to maximize the storage by adding a custom built-in above the toilet.

Since we wanted to work around the existing floor plan without knocking down walls, we decided to replace the original shower with a large linen closet and convert the bathtub into a large walk in shower. Even though we were switching things around, this plan allowed the contractors to use existing plumbing from the bathtub in lieu of installing new plumbing. Cost-saving measures like this allowed the clients to spend a little more on finishes like tile and hardware. The colors of the tile, cabinets, and countertops leaned more grey than beige, which contributes to the spa-like feeling. We were also able to bring in more natural light while still maintaining privacy by ditching the blinds and adding opaque bathroom windows.

We were able to create an entirely new bathroom interior design with SketchUp, using the benefits of E Design to add light and luxury to our client’s home — all without breaking the bank. Our clients love getting ready in this luxurious setting and say every day feels like a spa day!
