Neighborhood Spotlight: Crestwood Fort Worth
As a REALTOR® I’m often asked, “What are the best neighborhoods in Fort Worth?” The answer to that question varies depending on what you are looking for.
The Neighborhood Spotlight series highlights many different Fort Worth neighborhoods through the lens of people who live there, and sometimes, people who are selling homes there. Feel free to reach out if you have questions about any of the neighborhoods in this series, and let me know if you’d like to see your own Fort Worth neighborhood or real estate listing featured on the blog.
This week, I listed a charming Crestwood cottage on a truly special property sprinkled with beautiful, mature trees. 3700 Wildwood Road presents the unique opportunity to live in a peaceful setting surrounded by nature without sacrificing the convenience of urban living — it’s nestled between the Trinity River to the north, east, and west, but it’s also a stone’s throw from Downtown, Cultural District, River District, West 7th, and more.
The sellers took the time to share with me what it’s like to live in this home and neighborhood:
What do you enjoy about living in the area?
My husband and I are freelancers and work from home when we aren’t traveling. This house is such an easy spot to come and go from. Outside of the convenience, we love the beauty of Crestwood — the trees and proximity to the Trinity River, where I walk my dog every day. The neighborhood is multigenerational with diverse homes. We’ve loved living here!
What is your favorite spot in the house? Why?
My husband Peter and I are both artists. I put my desk in the front room, overlooking the triple windows facing Wildwood and surrounded by art. I love the vaulted ceiling and wide open space to display our work, and I love inviting clients and friends over to see it!
What are your favorite local restaurants?
One of our favorite spots is Mi Cocina, which has two locations close by — at the Chapel Hill Shopping Center on Hulen and Sundance Square in downtown. Joe T. Garcia’s on the Northside is great for family get togethers (or any special occasion) with its beautiful gardens and fountains.
Describe what a typical weekend might look like for someone living in this neighborhood.
We love being outside — walking or riding our bikes on the Trinity Trails. On Sundays, we could get to downtown Fort Worth for church at The Paradox in minutes. It’s a great house to entertain and host dinners with friends — we love cooking outside below twinkle lights strung between the many trees in the backyard.
If you want to venture outside the Crestwood neighborhood, you can get to any of the great places in minutes:
For art, check out the Modern, Kimball, and Amon Carter museums.
For cowboy culture, attend one of the many equestrian events at Will Rogers, or visit the Stockyards for great western shopping (be sure to stop by Hotel Drover!)
For a more urban experience, Sundance Square has tons of events, restaurants, and beautiful fountains, One of my favorites is the huge Christmas tree they set up over the holidays.
Fort Worth is known as the City of Cowboys and Culture, and Crestwood is at the heart of it all. Fort Worth is just a great place to live and 3700 Wildwood is close to everything!
